Baker & McKenzie offers plenty of opportunities to get involved with sporting and social activities with colleagues and clients.

Sport

The London office has active football, mixed hockey, cricket and netball teams.  We also participate in the annual Rugby Sevens event and the Manches Cup yacht race to Cowes.

The London office football team participates in the Euro Baker tournament, the Firm's annual inter-office football competition, which is hosted by a different European office each year. In 2011 the tournament was held in Zurich, and previous locations include Amsterdam, Vienna and Warsaw.

We provide subsidised membership to two health clubs near the office, or you can request a subsidy for membership of a gym closer to home.

Social life

All employees are invited to our monthly Friday Night Drinks event, an informal drinks reception taking place in our office.  In addition, we hold annual office-wide Christmas and Summer parties. The Christmas Party is a black tie event held at a prestigious London venue.  The Summer Party is a more informal affair, with a band or DJ, dinner and dancing. Past venues include the Kensington Roof Gardens and Temple Gardens.

Each department holds its own social events, including trainee welcome drinks, which act as an excellent opportunity for trainees to get to know a range of people across their department in an informal setting.
