As of July 2012, Baker & McKenzie will switch to the seven-month fast-track LPC. You will spend seven months studying towards the Baker & McKenzie fast-track LPC at the College of Law prior to commencing your training contract.
We recruit 38 trainees each year and expect you to have obtained, or be expected to achieve, at least a 2:1 in your degree, and a minimum of 340 UCAS points (or equivalent). You should demonstrate a consistently high level of performance throughout your studies. Applications are accepted from law and non-law undergraduates, recent graduates or graduates who have spent time in business or pursuing another career.
For the GDL and LPC, we pay your course fees and a maintenance grant towards living expenses. The grant is currently £6,000 for the GDL and £8,000 for the LPC year. We offer a competitive salary, paying in the upper quartile of City law firms. Our current trainee starting salary is £38,000. Trainees also receive a one-off bonus of £3,000 to help with student debts and the costs associated with settling into a new job in London.
